SISUVATIKA Sisuvatika is unique child development programme envisaged by Vidyabharati, looking at the child as an integrated whole. There is no formal syllabus and it is not a pre primary education programme either. A carefully designed sisuvatika syllabus helps the children pass through divergent real life situations in the class which lead them towards no-conscious holistic development. “The Chechi” who oversees the activities , treats the children tenderly as budding flowes. The friendly and carefully guided atmosphere created in the class room , helps the children to acquire life skills in non threatening environment with confidence and self esteem. The first stage of Sisuvatika is known as Arun – the first breaking ray of the Sun, and the second stage is Udaya – means the enlightened reay. Thus literally these two yeaers development can be considered as beautiful manifestation of Arun rays into Udaya.Faculty resourcefulness is the key factor in a Sisuvatika class. We want our young students contribute to a society that is just humane and value oriented (Dharmaadhishtith). The illuminating words of Swami Vivekananda – “ Feel children, Feel the poor, ignorant and down trodden “- is the inspiration of our seva projects. Sevanidhi is one of the such projects. Holding the sorrows of the most downtrodden brethren of the tribal area, pupil from our school collect sevanidhi on a particular week in every year and offer the collected amount before the portrait of Swami Vivekananda on his birth day. This amount is utilised to put up samskara Kendra and single teacher education centres at tribal and yet another vulnerable coastal areas. All the teachers and management committee members of our school whole heartedly participate in this service activity. We also insist that no deserving student will be deprived of education due to lack of money. Our school is readily offering concessions to such students.
